After graduating from Oberlin College with a B.A. in Theater, Kitzie Winship didn't know where to begin to look for work. That's when she saw a sign that read "If you build it, they will laugh!" So she decided to create an all female, feminist original sketch comedy collective in New York City. The sign was, of course, for the new Walmart in Oberlin, but if you don't tell, we wont either! She soon realized that such an endeavor was unlikely to prove lucrative, but after a series of jobs stage managing in churches and serving espresso to diplomats, she gave up on such lofty dreams of financial excess and decided to return to her artistic roots. By roots she means her computer, where she spends a great portion of her day writing sketches and screaming at articles from various online news sources.
In addition to her time at Oberlin (where she was a proud member and co-director of Piscapo's Arm, Oberlin's original sketch comedy collective) Kitzie has studied at The Magnet Theater, and is an alum of the Eugene O'Neill National Theater Institute, where she discovered her passion for angry feminist writing and the occasional mental and/or emotional breakdown. Thank goddess for comedy!
